The Powerhouse Gym

The Powerhouse Gym runs a variety of classes throughout the week to help you keep in shape.

Choose from a selection of classes including Zumba, Jazzercise, Step Aerobics, Tums/Bums & Thighs and Boxing Circuit Class. All classes are run by fully qualified instructors.

TUMS/BUMS/THIGHS

Exactly what it says!

Works on those difficult areas to firm and tone- tummies, buttocks and inner and outer thighs. Suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.

Class time - 1 hour.
Instructed by Amber on Monday and Audrey Love on Thursday.
Class cost - £4.00

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS (MMA)

Mixed martial arts for all levels, combining freestyle wrestling, Muay Thai and Brazilian Ju Jitsu. Brilliant for anyone looking to get fit and learn practical self defence.

Suitable for competitors and non-competitors alike. Instructed by Neil Laird. Undefeated Pro MMA fighter.

ZUMBA

The Zumba program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and eas-to-follow moves to create a one of a kind fitness program that will blow you away. Each explosive workout burns 400 - 1,000 calories and is suitable for men and women of all ages, shapes and fitness levels. Come and join the party.

The class is one hour long and instructed by Ross. Class cost £4.00.

MUAY THAI

Stand up self defence martial arts. Explosive training, excellent for fitness, flexibility and self confidence. Full fight programme and grading system. Suitable for competitors and non-competitors alike.

The class is instructed by David Bowie, 2nd Dan, British Champion with 16 years experience. Class cost £4.00.

BODYTONING

This class consists of 30 minutes using resistance machines for toning all body areas and 30 minutes cardiovascular training using treadmills, bikes, crosstrainers and rowers. In this class you can train at your own level in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Bodytoning has been popular since the gym opened in 1990.

The class is one hour long and instructed by Adam. An 8 week course for non-members is £25.00 otherwise £4.00 per visit.

PILATES

This is a series of non-impact exercises designed by Joseph Pilates to develop strength, balance and inner awareness.

The class is 1 hour long and costs £4.00.


BOXING CIRCUIT

Boxing Circuit training is an excellent cardiovascular and muscle endurance workout. Using basic boxing skills and pad work to give the trainer a challenging physical workout.

The class is 1 hour long, instructed by Raymond Connell and costs £4.00.
